Kyle Sandilands takes a dig at Nadia Bartel’s white powder scandal

It’s been six months since Nadia Bartel was caught on camera snorting white powder at an illegal gathering during Melbourne’s Covid lockdown.

But radio host Kyle Sandilands couldn’t help but make a joke about the former WAG, 36, on Monday morning’s The Kyle and Jackie O Show, referencing the viral incident during a quiz with musician Joel Corry.

During the clip, Kyle, 50, asked the Head & Heart hitmaker: ‘Which Australian influencer was shamed for doing [white powder] off a $1.50 Kmart plate?

‘We all know when we do [white powder], you’ve got to use the good plates! Versaces get broken out. Not some Kmart thing! Which one was it?’ he laughed.

While he had no idea, Joel correctly managed to guess it was Nadia and was given a cheer from Kyle.

On September 2, Nadia was filmed breaking Melbourne’s lockdown and snorting white powder from the cheap plate at an illegal gathering at a friend’s house.

Her business partner Ellie Pearson accidentally uploaded the footage to social media, forcing Nadia to issue a public apology one day later.

‘Hi everyone, I have let you all down by my actions. I take full responsibility and I am committed to taking all necessary steps to ensure I make better choices in the future,’ Nadia wrote on Instagram.

‘To my family and friends, my business partners and the public health workers trying to keep us all safe, I am embarrassed and remorseful.

‘I am truly and deeply sorry. I hope I can earn your forgiveness and, in time, your trust.’

At the time, private and public gatherings were not permitted in Melbourne under statewide Covid restrictions.

As a result, the clip was posted to both Instagram and Facebook, and was online for about 10 minutes before being deleted.

But it was quickly copied by others and shared around, going viral on the Thursday night and making headlines by the next morning.

Nadia and three other women were later fined $5,452 each for breaking lockdown.

She wasn’t charged with drug offenses, however, because Victoria Police couldn’t prove what she was snorting.

Nadia is the ex-wife of retired AFL star Jimmy Bartel, a Brownlow Medallist who spent his career with the Geelong Cats.

The couple, who share two children, split in 2019 after five years of marriage.
